Having a website has become a necessity in today’s world. With many hosting companies offering all the required website resources in one place, there is little reason not to have a place of your own on the web.

Possessing a website of your own allows you to take part in an invaluable communication environment. With this in mind, we take a look at 7 reasons why it is highly advisable to have a personal presence online today.

In my web travels (and twitter sessions) this week, I came across several sites that made me think, “Hey, that would make a great post” or “That’s is really good info”. So I thought I would pass these jewels along in their original form by the original authors.

These posts were chosen because I witnessed first hand their benefit to a website or blog owner. The post or website made me reconsider a choice I had made, or am about to make. It also provided some form of excellent value in response to questions I have noticed floating around during the past week or so.

Recently, I had some difficulty implementing forms into my blog here. So I set out on a mission to locate an easy to use plug-in to get forms into my blog.

Have a look at my requirements and how we evaluated the plug-in.

Its free to join.

This new network is all about website and blog owners helping other website/blog owners. They are just starting out and have a handful of members as of this writing. But the number of registered members is rapidly increasing.

The browser statistics for the year ending 2008 have been updated at W3Schools.

The computer screen no longer holds the exclusive position …

I recently had a project that required an extensive amount of customization to a WordPress Theme. The following article describes how I setup a WordPress blog on my home computer to work through the changes on the theme.

I have been working on a project recently where the customer has requested the use of PDF files in the content. This actually happens frequently, especially when the customer is not that web savvy. It usually also involves a lengthy discussion on the use of PDF files and the impact to the visitor.

But it has caused me to sit back and make an attempt to understand the perspective of the customer.

Using a PDF file or two is not necessarily a web design sin. In fact, there are points to defend the use of a PDF file. So I thought it might be beneficial to highlight the pros and cons of using PDF files in your website content.
