Landing pages are one of the best methods for directing targeted traffic to specific, qualified areas of your web site. They also allow you to cost effectively drive a targeted audience to your website or individual products.

If you are new to Internet Marketing, a landing page is the page that a person is pointed to when they click on an advertisement or a search-engine result link. The page will usually display content that is a logical extension of the advertisement or search result, and is optimized to feature specific keywords or phrases for indexing by search engines. Different landing pages can be customized to measure the effectiveness of different advertisements or keyword groups.

The goal of a landing page is to persuade a visitor to complete an action such as filling out a form, or interacting with the content to complete an immediate or eventual sale of a product or service. If the purpose of the landing page is to capture visitor information, content or desired information will usually be withheld until some minimal amount of visitor information is provided. This is typically an email address, a name and/or a telephone number – enough to “capture the lead” and add the prospect to a mailing list.
